HP server management is consolidated with the Web-based HP System Management tool. 1.Use Windows Explorer to navigate to “C:CompaqWbemHompage.” Either type this into Windows Explorer or copy and paste into the location bar. Opening any folder will open Windows Explorer.
2.Double-click “cpqhmmd.ini.” If prompted, select “Notepad” to open the program. If not prompted, right-click the file, choose “Open With” and select “Notepad.”
3.Write down the original values and edit the following values in the “[HMMDConfiguration]” section:

7.Change the password when prompted. The computer will log you in as the administrator, allowing you to reset the password.
8.Reopen the two files you edited earlier. Replace the changed values with the original values. This allows you to use the new password.
Tip
- Instead of writing down the original values, copy and paste the two files to the desktop. After resetting the password, delete the changed files and copy the old files back into the Homepage directory.
Warnings
- You cannot recover a password using this method, only reset to a new password.
- Do not leave the two edited files with the new values. Otherwise, you will be prompted to change the password every time you login.
