To select the software you want to install, click [Custom Install]. For details, see 'Installing only the necessary software' in Installing the Software from the EOS DIGITAL Solution Disk (Included on the CD-ROM / Downloadable from the Canon Homepage). But disks get lost, and cameras get sold on without their box of gubbins and disks – and in my case, software gets outpaced by operating system upgrades (I have the disk, but it won’t run on Windows 7) – so you need another way to install it. If you have a Canon DSLR but lost your original EOS Utility that came with the camera, watch this video to learn how to re install the program.

Thank you for contacting Canon product support regarding the transfer of images from your EOS Digital Rebel. I'm happy to assist you with this.

The Scanner & Camera Wizard has been replaced with the Windows Live Photo Gallery. It does a nice job.

Because this camera is not fully compatible with Windows 7, you'll need to change the communication mode on the camera to the PTP setting. Unfortunately, the camera cannot communicate with Canon software in this mode. We'll provide a work-around for that below. Here's how to access the Communication setting:

1. Check that the camera is not connected to the computer and then set the power switch to <ON>.

1. Set [Communication] in menu option <> to [PTP].
   
2. Press the <MENU> button to switch the LCD monitor display off and then set the power switch to <OFF>

With the camera connected to your computer, turn it on. Since the Canon Software won't work, we recommend the use of the Windows Photo Gallery to transfer you images. If you haven't already done so, you may retrieve and install this program from Microsoft's download.live.com.

For the rest of your Canon software, you may access updates by clicking here. Once on our site, if your operating system is not correctly detected, please choose it using the drop-down menu. Now click on 'Software' to show the software updates.

Mcafee Won't Install

Click on 'Digital Photo Professional 3.14.47 Updater for Windows'. Installation instructions are on the next page. Also, please download 'Digital Photo Professional 3.14.15 Updater for W..' to your desktop. You may also download and install 'Picture Style Editor 1.14.20 Updater for Windows' and 'PhotoStitch 3.1.23 Updater for Windows'.

After accepting the required disclaimer, please download the program update to your desktop.

If you have installed an older version of software, you may now double-click on the program update to install it. If not, just put the CD-ROM in your computer's optical drive and stop any installation program that starts. You may now double-click on the program updates to install them.
